Metro Detroit CHD Awareness Walk 2011
We are beginning to plan for our CHD Awareness Walk in 2011. It will be the first Walk for CHD in the Metro Detroit area and we are looking for persons interested in joining the Walk Committee to help us plan the event. Please email metrodetroit@itsmyheart.org for more details.
Meetings and Events
It’s My Heart meetings are a wonderful place to learn more about CHD and meet other parents and family members that are going through similar situations. Check the calendar below for our scheduled meetings and other events.
Get Involved
As a group, we provide non-medical support to those affected by CHD through a variety of means and work to educate the public on Congenital Heart Defects. The following is a list of ways we reach out to our community.
We Got Heart
“We Got Heart” is a nationwide support group specifically geared towards ages 12-19 for all those affected by CHD including family and friends. This is a safe place where teens can talk freely amongst each other about CHD, it’s implications and lifestyle management. Click here to become a member of We Got Heart.
Keep your eyes peeled for exciting upcoming events like:
- Stadium Night in your area (Sports Team)
- Annual Retreat
- Monthly meetings with guest speakers and fun activities
Participate and get involved by:
- Stuffed Animal Drive for the Comfort Bags
- Snack Drive for Care Packages
- Pennies for Heart Drive
- Participate in Annual IMH National CHD Awareness Walk as a form of community service
