Scholarships
Due to technological advances and innovative surgical procedures, CHD Doctors and Surgeons are keeping children alive who never would have survived ten years ago. Because these advancements have been brought about rather rapidly, it has produced a situation where there is a lack of CHD medical professionals. In an effort to fill the void we have teamed up with leading Universities to award scholarships for those specifically going into the field of CHD and attempt to encourage other Medical Students to steer their career path in the CHD direction.
This a great way to ensure care for the growing population of CHDer’s and also provides you an incentive knowing the money you generously donate to IMH, is directly enhancing lives of so many. Without CHD specific Medical Staff, the care children receive could affect the odds the will make it into adulthood or to exist as a thriving adult.
Donations and available funds determine how many scholarships are granted. It is our goal for each chapter to give four scholarships per year.
