Hospital Programs
Comfort Bags
It’s My Heart supplies Comfort Bags to patients in intensive care units such as the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU), Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), or Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Each bag contains information regarding Congenital Heart Defects and our organization, a disposable camera, hand sanitizer, stuffed animal, note pad, puzzle book, crayons, drawing pad and snacks. The purpose is to give support and to connect with other families that are going through similar situations. If you or someone you know is interested in donating Comfort Bag items or starting up a Comfort Bag Drive, you can contact comfortbags@itsmyheart.org. Please contact the Cardiac Social Worker or your nurse if you are in need of a Comfort Bag.

Care Packages
It’s My Heart supplies Care Packages to those on the Inpatient Heart Floor and those at the Cardiac Cath Lab. Each package contains snacks, candy and a calendar of It’s My Heart events. Please contact your nurse or cath lab nurse if you are in need of a sack of Care Packages.

Backpack Buddies
It’s My Heart supplies Backpack Buddies to those children who are required to wear a long term halter or monitor. Each Backpack is a cute animal backpack a child can wear on their back that will allow them to move around with more freedom. Please contact the Cardiac Childlife Specialist if you are in need of a Backpack Buddy.

Legacy Boxes
It’s My Heart supplies Legacy Boxes to those who have recently lost their child while in the hospital. Each box contains a disposable camera, organza bags for nail and hair collection, 3-D hand/foot mold, photo album and information about funeral ideas. The purpose is to give families ways to preserve the legacy of their child and ways to connect with other families. Please contact the Cardiac Social Worker or your nurse if you are in need of a Legacy Box.
