Run Raises Awareness For Heart Defects

HOUSTON — One out of every 100 babies is born with a congenital heart defect, and many families don’t know about this potentially fatal condition until it strikes someone they love, KPRC Local 2 reported Thursday. Houston mom Corrie Stassen has made it her mission to change that.

It’s My Heart is hosted its 4th Annual CHD Awareness 2 1/2 mile Family Walk & 5k Fun Run – Noah’s Legacy. The event is 2 1/2 miles in memory of It’s My Heart founder Corrie Stassen’s son Noah who bravely fought CHD for 2 1/2 years. All proceeds benefit It’s My Heart mission to provide support, spread awareness, educate and advocate those affected by Congenital Heart Defects by creating alliances with fellow families, hospitals, support groups and community.
